Leeds Beckett University
Far away in the mists of time when parents were too young to be parents, this was Leeds Polytechnic. It was highly respected then and even more so today. Leeds Beckett University has a top academic reputation, particularly in sports, business, media and teaching. Lots of UK and overseas students head this way as a result.
The uni occupies two campuses – Headingley and City. Heavy duty money has been invested in recent years on Beckett, and the fab facilities and new builds reflect this fact.

Being there
Facilities at Beckett are state-of-the-art, so for instance, both libraries have dozens of PCs just hanging around waiting to be used. There’s an awesome online library too.
The City campus has large lecture theatres and quiet corners, plus bars, cafes and shops with grant-friendly prices. The onsite Student’s Union bar hosts gigs almost every night. It’s lively.
Headingley is home to many of the sports-related degrees, and the campus uses the awesomely equipped Headingley Stadium as an annexe. Being surrounded by Beckett Park means the vibe is chilled and spacious.
