Where are the best fireworks displays in Leeds?
Leeds City Council is hosting a grand total of six fireworks displays and bonfires across the city this November.
The biggest and most popular event is at Soldiers Field in Roundhay Park, which typically attracts around 70,000 people per year.
It will be held on Friday 4th November and will begin at 7.30pm when the gigantic bonfire is lit – the fireworks follow half an hour later at 8pm.
Five other event locations are Bramley Park, East End Park, Middleton Park, Springhead Park and Woodhouse Moor, all of which will also be held on Friday night.
When are the fireworks displays in Leeds?
Given that Bonfire Night falls on a Saturday this year, there will be two days of events across Leeds.
Most of the major displays will happen on Friday night, but many pubs in the city will be hosting their own events on Saturday night, too, along with live music and street food in some places.
The Mustard Pot in Chapel Allerton, The Chemic Tavern in Woodhouse and The Hunslet Club in Hunslet will all be hosting events on Saturday and Stockeld Park will host its own on Sunday.
How much are the fireworks displays entry fees?
Most of the bonfire events in Leeds are free, including the council-run ones that we named above, but some do encourage donations to local charities and foundations from their attendees.
Where is the biggest bonfire in Leeds?
The biggest bonfire you will find in Leeds will be in Roundhay Park on Friday night. The council event prides itself on the size of its bonfire and that’s exactly why it attracts so many tens of thousands of people every November.
It provides the best picture opportunities, especially when the fireworks have started, so cameras at the ready!
Where can I park near Roundhay Park?
It is one of the main events of the year in Leeds, so parking is notoriously difficult in the area unless you arrive very early.
Many people park 10 or 15 minutes away on foot from the park itself to avoid the traffic jams – Street Lane and its peripheral streets tend to be popular places to park and it’s free.
